Share of heating in the total energy consumption in household
The greatest portion of energy consumed in households is used for heating.
This area enables the most saving possibilities.
Basic saving measures:
- a suitable choice of heat source and heating method,
- reduction of heat losses (e.g. by thermal insulation),
- right heating regulation.
The choice of a heating method is influenced by a number of factors such as price, fuel availability, investment needed, user comfort of the heating system, fuel storage needs and environmental impact. All these factors should be taken into consideration by the user when choosing the heating method and fuel.
Choosing a heat source
From the viewpoint of operating costs the option with lowest price per heating unit is the most suitable. These options usually feature low user comfort or higher investment costs.
